The Mitchell Report

Performance enhancing drug use had reached an all-time high in the early to mid 2000’s.  A change had to be made so baseball officials hired former Seanator George Mitchell in 2006 to conduct an investigation on the use of anabilic steroids and HGH in the game.

The 20 month investigation yielded a 409 page report that implicated over 80 players.

The intent of this report was to investigate the problem, find the users, and suggest why usage started and how it could be rid from the game.

The following players are just some of the players that were included in this report, are facing accusations or charges of steroid/HGH use, or have tested positive for use: Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, Andy Pettitte, Mo Vaughn, Jason Giambi, Jeremy Giambi, Mark McGwire, Jose Canseco, Miguel Tejada, Paul Lo Duca, Gary Sheffield, Paul Byrd, Troy Glaus, Brian Roberts, Jose Guillen, David Justice and Gary Matthews Jr.
